Arif Vora was 58 at the time of the attack, and lost his life along with that of his son Ramiz, whom he was visiting at the time. He was working as an insurance agent, and was undoubtedly looking forward to becoming a grandfather, as his the birth of his granddaughter had happened only days before the attacks.
This joyous occasion was sadly to be turned into tragedy that day at Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch.
Arif, an imam, and his wife had traveled from Vadodara, Gujarat, to visit their son and daughter-in-law to celebrate the arrival of the newest member of their family. While their grandchild will never get to know their grandfather, he will undoubtedly be remembered fondly by his family and friends.
