Syed Areeb Ahmed

Areeb was a young 27 year old Pakistani man. He was the only son of his aging parents and only brother to his younger sister in Karachi, Pakistan. Karachi is the most populated and largest coastal city of Pakistan, a country bordering Afghanistan and India. He arrived only 18 months ago to New Zealand so he could earn a better living and support his family back home in Karachi as a chartered accountant. As a devout Muslim he was attending the Friday prayers as he did every week. He loved being with friends and education was his priority in life. His colleagues at PWC in New Zealand describe him as warm, dedicated, very respectful, full of humour, and someone they will miss immensely. His body is being sent to Karachi so his family can bury him there.
